AEOLIAN ISLANDS

Aeolian Islands
Aeolian Islands

The Aeolian Islands are an archipelago in the northeast of Sicily. These volcanic islands have cliffs full of caves and recesses, surrounded by mirrors of crystalline water. There are many inlets along the coasts that offer real natural pools of transparent turquoise water, with bottoms teeming with marine fauna and flora, from where bubbles of sulfurous gas emerge, the result of the underlying volcanic activity.

7 ISLANDS

There are seven islands, each with a different personality. Lipari is the largest island and is the most popular. Vulcano is known for its hot volcanic mud, linked to the volcanic activity of the island. Mud is known for its beneficial properties, and it is possible to bathe in it.
Salina is the second largest island, famous for the production of Malvasia, a delicious sweet wine. Panarea is the smallest and most fascinating island. Stromboli is the favorite island for snorkelers and divers for its deep waters. The island also offers hiking trails, although sometimes suspended, given the great activity of the volcano. In fact, it is often possible to admire the Sciare di Fuoco or spectacular lava jets in the evening. Alicudi and Filicudi are the wildest islands, for those who love a type of holiday more in contact with mother nature.

Sicily

Let yourself be lulled by island life, punctuated by slow and relaxed rhythms compared to city life. The islands allow you to disconnect from the busy life and enjoy what nature has to offer. Spectacular dives in clear waters, excursions in unique volcanic landscapes, boat trips to admire the beautiful profiles that the islands offer from the sea, and much more.

AEGADIAN ISLANDS

Isole Egadi
Isole Egadi
Marettimo

On the western side of Sicily, the Aegadian island is trendy for summer holidays. They are the right destination for those wishing to experience the art of dolce far niente (doing nothing). Coves with fine sandy beaches, rugged coasts, and crystal clear waters, the Aegadian Islands offer this and much more.

3 ISLANDS

Favignana, the largest and most popular of the three;

Marettimo is a wilder island and suitable for those who prefer the calm of island life;

Levanzo is the smallest island, even this wildest and most peaceful.

The Pelagie archipelago consists of three islands: Lampedusa, Linosa, and the very small uninhabited Lampione. Lampedusa boasts a nature reserve, the Bay of Rabbits, which is the safe refuge of the Caretta caretta turtles, which have found a home in this corner of paradise. The island is also the protagonist of the European migration crisis. The islanders have always been a great example of hospitality for the desperate refugees arriving from the sea. Linosa is a small volcanic that comes to life in the homonymous village, with characteristic colorful houses.

PANTELLERIA

Pantelleria is the largest island, located in the southernmost part of Sicily.

The island is targeted by a strong wind that blows all year round; for this reason, the houses of the islanders, called dummuso, have a particular square shape, with white painted walls, 2 meters thick and small windows, to guarantee good insulation and wind protection.

The island has very particular coastline, carved by the wind, and the waters are particularly clean and rich in fauna and flora.
