This summer, from 1st July to 31st August, the Botanical Garden of Palermo hosts Anima Mundi, an interactive path designed exclusively for the botanical garden. The project was born from the collaboration between the University experts and the Odd Agency designers, involving bioacoustic and light pollution technicians.
Odd Agency is a Palermo reality that boasts many projects carried out in Sicily. They are masters in video mapping, and through interactive experiences, light, and sound, they create shows that stimulate the viewer's imagination.
With Anima Mundi, Odd Agency puts the magic of video mapping at the service of a project that develops on the reflection of climate change and on the union between technology and nature, where everything coexists and does not enter into conflict. It is precisely here that man and the environment come into contact in an innovative and green itinerary. Everything is combined with the surrounding fauna, namely the birds of the university garden, to monitor the effects of light and sound on parrots and gray crows to track their reactions.
The Botanical Garden of Palermo is a place devoted to the conservation and safeguarding of biodiversity, central themes of the multimedia project. In addition, it hosts important cultural events, becoming a real cultural hub of reference in Palermo. The Anima Mundi project and the monitoring of light and noise pollution will be the first step towards improving the integration between cultural events and the nature of the Botanical Garden that hosts them.
The itinerary lasts about an hour and is dotted with projections with artistic lighting, which creates spectacular animations, sets, and holograms. So, if you are in Palermo on these dates, you can't miss it!
